Get to Know Local Artist Kristin Adamczyk

We are pleased to present the vibrant and beautiful indigo dye work of local St. Augustine artist, Kristin Adamczyk. Hand-dyed cotton textiles with one of a kind patterns in rich, deep blue hues are now available for purchase in store and online. Featured items include napkin sets, flour sack towels, table cloths, foroshiki,  and curtain panels.

Kristin has always had an affinity for textile craft and has used natural dye, embroidery, and pattern making to create wearable and useful art. During the four years she attended Flagler College, she helped support herself financially by dyeing and repurposing vintage clothing to consign at a local St. Augustine boutique. Now a mother, she has little creative time but has found that tie dye is an artistic process that she and her son can enjoy together.

Please join Kristin as she co-hosts a natural dye workshop on July 16 with natural dye expert, Rachel DeCuba. The workshop will focus on using food waste and scraps as textile dye. For more information, go to artrdec.com .

This fall , Kristin hopes to bring an additional indigo dye class to Saint Augustine. This class will focus on the actual indigo dye process as well as the rich history that indigo dye trade has in northeast Florida.

Please stay tuned for updates, new merchandise arrivals, and information on upcoming classes hosted by Kristin at Coastal Traders and other locations!
